Archaeological Collection
From Stone Age tools to Roman roads, in one continuous journey.
The museum's journey through time begins here, in a central hall of nearly 90 m² devoted to natural history and the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages. Freestanding showcases set within soft arched niches let each object be seen from every side, while tablets and a virtual-reality room bring the sites themselves into the gallery. A dedicated corner presents the weapons, equipment and jewellery of the Illyrian tribes in an elegant angled showcase. The Roman and medieval chapter follows: the Tabula Peutingeriana road map projected at wall scale, Roman, Byzantine and medieval coins, and cannons from the fortress of Onogošt.
One display system, from a coin to a cannon — the flexibility a diverse private collection needs.
