Red Rock
Fifty thousand years of human presence, read layer by layer.
Crvena Stijena (Red Rock) is the Paleolithic site where both Neanderthals and modern humans left their traces. To make deep time legible, we designed tall vertical showcases, washed in warm red light, in which the finds are arranged by the horizons and layers they were excavated from. Visitors read prehistory the way archaeologists do — from the ground up — and an abstract chronology becomes something the eye grasps at once. The story is split across two connected rooms: Neanderthals in one, modern humans in the other, with an opening between them that stages the encounter of the two species.
Because excavations at Red Rock continue, the display is built to grow. We design private collections the same way: ready for the next acquisition.
