Legacy of Ilija Šobajić
An artist's life, told through his work and the things he kept.
01 · About the Project
The legacy of Ilija Šobajić numbers nearly 1,000 items, and both the painter and his family left an indelible mark on Nikšić. The brief was to honour the artist and the man at once. Against deep, saturated walls, a curated selection of his paintings rises above a long, custom-designed showcase that combines vertical and horizontal display, so canvases, photographs and personal belongings read together as a single story. Dedicated pedestals and integrated lighting let every piece, from a major canvas to a small keepsake, hold its own.
For collectors whose holdings mix artworks, archives and family objects, this is how a collection becomes a biography rather than an inventory.
