01 · About the Project
In a hall of nearly 90 m², the ethnographic heritage of Nikšić and its region unfolds through objects of very different scale and weight. The finest examples of Montenegrin folk costume stand in tall, arched wall showcases against dark plum walls, where their rich ornament and colour can be read in full. Smaller objects sit in freestanding showcases for close, detailed viewing, while heavier pieces, such as weapons, are placed to keep circulation open and the room visually balanced.
Textiles are among the most demanding objects to display well. This project shows how we give garments, embroidery and costume collections the presence, protection and light they deserve.
