Museum Promenade
A corridor transformed into the heart of the museum.
01 · About the Project
On paper it is a long glazed corridor; in our design it is the backbone of the upper floor, the point where visitors begin, return and orient themselves between collections. The Promenade tells the story of the palace itself, through period photographs and the original chandelier, conserved and reconstructed and returned to the ceiling. At its centre is the architect Josip Slade, who designed Montenegro's and Nikšić's first urban plans, a vast network of roads across the country, and King Nikola's Palace itself.
In a private residence, hallways and transitions are often the most overlooked spaces. We treat them as the thread that ties a collection — and a home — together.
